Myraid Gardens is made up of over 1000 species of plants, and into two separate regions: the Dry Tropical Zone and the Tropical Rainforest Zone.  The Dry Tropical Zone, also known as Dry Mountain, displays plants from South America, Madagascar and Mexico.  The plants are put through a drought during the months of November through March and then systematically watered during the summer months to promote their natural state in their native communities.  The Tropical Rainforest Zone, also known as Wet Mountain, displays plants from the South Pacific Islands, Central Africa, Amazonia and Southeast Asia.  These plants are watered daily.  (301·W Reno, Oklahoma City, 405-297-3995)
 
The Kirkpatrick Center is made up of seven museums, the Oklahoma Air Space Museum, the Kirkpatrick Planetarium, Red Earth Indian Center, the Kirkpatrick Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, the International Photography Hall of Fame, the Omniplex Science Museum along with others offer great fun and a unique experience for everyone.  (50th & Martin Luther King Blvd, Edmond, 405-427-5461)
 
 
     
 
Since 1955, the National Cowboy Hall of Fame has offered educational programs to teach the history of the American West.  Tuesdays at Showdown is an adult educational program that explores the old west literature, history, culture and art.  Saturdays for Kids offered in the spring and fall for children 12 and under.  The Academy of Western Art Workshop offers one week of great fun for participants to use oil paints, acrylics, clay and watercolors to create their own unique work of art.  Special events and exhibits are on-going throughout the year.  (1700 NE 63rd St, Oklahoma City, 405-478-2250) 
 
Established to preserve Edmond's history, the Edmond Historical Society and Museum, offers great programs for all visitors to learn from and enjoy.  They teach Edmond's past with fun exhibits and a Children's Interactive Center for children to explore while they learn.  A recreation of the Bradbury Corner Station and a model of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church are permanent exhibits that can be enjoyed at all times. The National Softball Hall of Fame, created to induct coaches, players and umpires that personify excellence in their fields, is a great place to visit year round.  This difficult honor has less than 400 inductee's in the 70 years since it was created.  (2801 NE 50th St, Oklahoma City, 405-424-5266)
